The World

Sleepy Key

A small key that holds its secrets well, where shadows linger even in daylight. One end lies quiet, wrapped in solitude, where Grey keeps to herself. Farther down, the world appears brighter—louder, alive. But beneath the surface, something stirs. On this key, angels walk unseen among mortals, and somewhere within its shores lies a sacred ground—hidden and eternal.

The Crest

The secret meeting place of The Surge and The Fallen, hidden deep in the middle of the forest, among the old, overgrown tangle of twisted roots and moss-draped branches, a clearing lies untouched by time. Encircling it are towering, white-skinned trees that stretch toward the heavens, their trunks smooth and luminous beneath the filtered light. Their branches and leaves intertwine high above, forming a perfect canopy—a circle so complete it feels deliberate, sacred.
Inside that circle, the grass grows impossibly green, soft as silk beneath bare feet, and the air hums with an ancient stillness. A silence so pure it feels alive.
No human eye has ever seen it, hidden by enchantment and will… until Grey and her brother cross its threshold, breaking a secrecy as old as the trees themselves.

Grey’s Deck

The silver French doors, draped in sheer curtains, open onto a high deck that seems to float above the shadowed beach. Below, a narrow path winds through the dune grass, shimmering faintly in the half-light. The sea murmurs like something ancient and alive. This is where Zale comes to Grey in secret, cloaked in the hush of night. A balcony suspended between the living and the lost. Here, the dark listens, and keeps their secrets.

The Surge’s House

Shrouded in wild foliage, the white marble structure rises like a vision. It’s form rising tall and silent. Weathered yet untouched by ruin, it exudes a quiet power, a light that seems to come from within the stone itself. Grace veiled in mystery. It stands at the end of the key, watching over the sea like a silent guardian.

Happy Wanderer Bookstore

Tucked away on a narrow street where time seems to have stood still, a small, mysterious bookstore waits in silence. Inside, the air is thick with the scent of dust and old paper. Books are piled in uneven towers, their spines cracked, and titles nearly lost to time. Bookcases hold classical writings, many of them first editions, their pages yellowed but revered.
It is here that Grey finds a book her father used to read to her and Michael. Her breath catches as she runs her fingers across it. Now, for the first time, she wonders why. Why this book? Why now? The thought flickers through her mind … was her father trying to tell her something?

Delvin

No angel or human enters unless Zale allows it. He alone decides who crosses over—and only he can lead them there.
The path begins in darkness, a narrow trail winding through whispering woods where the air hums with quiet magic and the light bends. Black lanterns hang from twisted branches, their flames flickering like secrets. The trees shimmer faintly, bark dusted with starlight, while black butterflies drift through the glow.
At its end rises a vast black marble structure veined with gray, time-worn yet eternal. Wrought-iron gates guard the entrance, majestic and quietly menacing.
Inside, a spiraling staircase climbs through a hall of black marble and living vines, the ceiling open to the endless sky. Strange trees with lavender-streaked trunks pierce the stone, their roots curling beneath the floor like veins.
It is hauntingly beautiful—part sanctuary, part curse. A place between worlds, untouched by time. Untouchable. Eternal. Entirely his.
